GRAIN TANK DOOR REPAIRS

PROJECT DETAILS:

CL Construction completed critical structural repairs on a 140-foot-diameter grain storage tank for ADM in Mankato, Minnesota. The project involved the removal and replacement of a large access door system, installation of new rolled steel plates, and extensive tank wall repairs. Working alongside engineers to maintain the structural integrity of the tank throughout construction, the CL Millwright team removed existing wall sections, installed reinforcement components, welded replacement steel into place, and restored access systems. Due to the age and thickness of the structure, some of the existing steel sheeting approached 1 inch thick, requiring specialized cutting, welding, and fabrication techniques. The completed repairs extended the service life of the tank while maintaining safe access and operational reliability.
